There are numerous B&B's around the county.
Stay in Sonoma or Healdsburg for wine country feel. Sonoma has history, a town square catering to numerous events, close by wineries, shopping and restaurants. Healdsburg is quieter.
Stay in Santa Rosa for best central location or if you're looking for less expensive accommodations (try the Sandman, Days Inn or Holiday Inn Express). Avoid anything on Santa Rosa Avenue--it's a congested commercial area.
Camping is available at Sugarloaf (just east of Santa Rosa) or Spring Lake (in Santa Rosa).
