Other Things to Do  

Breweries.  Third Street Aleworks (Santa Rosa), Powerhouse (Sebastopol),  and Bear Republic  (Healdsburg) are all good. There are several others in the county.

Fishing.  Salt water on San Pablo Bay, surf fishing at the coast or a fishing excursion out of Bodega Bay.  Fresh water fishing is so-so.  Try Lake Ralphine and Spring Lake in Santa Rosa, the Russian River, or Lake Sonoma.

Other ideas are the Petrified Forest, horseback riding, spas or hot air ballooning.

What to do with the kids?

• An ocean beach.  Doran Beach is best--and safest because it's sheltered.  Warning!  There are dangerous currents, especially in the winter, at the ocean.  What your children and yourself.
• Lake beach.  Spring Lake in Santa Rosa or Memorial in Healdsburg (opens sometime after Memorial Day).
• Armstrong Redwoods.
• And more commercial things such as Safari West, Petrified Forest, Old Faithful Geyser in Calistoga, or Marine World in Vallejo.
