Political Agenda: Since taking office, Curt Pringle has been involved with budget and fiscal issues. Also, he was one of the prime supporters of Governor Wilson's class-size reduction proposal. Another education related issue was the "mini voucher plan." Mr. Pringle supported this legislation that would have given funds for students in the state's poorest schools to attend public or private schools. Because this bill was defeated, Mr. Pringle has plans to re-introduce similiar legislation.
Another agenda item of Mr. Pringle's is to consolidate special districts with overlapping duties. This legislation would be a major cost cutter for Orange county. When Mr. Pringle was Speaker, he pursued a pro-business and pro-property rights agenda through the appointments he made to various positions. Other items that Mr. Pringle has pushed for, include welfare reform and middle class tax cuts.
