Separate but equal unconstitutional.

HOLDING

Doctrine of separate but equal unconstitutional. Rejected segregate public school systems of southern states.

RATIONAL

Separate is inherently unequal. The policy of separating the races is usually interpreted as denoting the inferiority of blacks. A sense of inferiority affects the motivationof a child to learn.
