If youíre looking for a way to poke fun at what has become the Christmas shopping season instead of a very spiritual celebration, go see Santa Land Diaries at Santa Rosaís 6th Street Playhouse. Based on stories by comic writer David Sedaris, this drama follows the lives of three men hired to be Santaís helper elves at Macys during the holidays.

There are many funny scenes as we follow the hiring, training and short career of these three elves. The satire is fitted for an adult audience, but it isnít too harsh or vulgar. In fact there are actually a few schmaltzy moments.

The entire cast does a great job with their roles. In fact their expressions and body language provides more laughs than the script. The hardest part about stringing a lot of comic skits together is that it lacks the kind of story and character depth that keeps the audience interested. But Iím merely one bah humbug critic. Most people will really enjoy the show.
