WILLIAM THOMAS CLARK

 

            Thomas Clark was born in Elbert County, Georgia on August 30, 1918 to Ben F.

Ben F Clark & Bessie Frances Higginbotham Clark.  He joined the Navy in 1937.  According to Naval resources , William Thomas Clark, Machinist’s Mate second class, U.S.N. was reported as missing in action following the sinkng of the USS HOUSTON on the night of February 28, 1942.  He was carried as officially dead as of March 1, 1942.

He was never married and left 3 brothers and 4 sisters.  The American Legion Post #14 changed the name to TATE – CLARK POST NO. 14 in his memory.
