Irma Glindar
20, daughter of Bertie Glindar -- bright,
brash, confident, Conzec. A passionate revolutionary who will stop at nothing
to overthrow established order, Irma blames The Quadrant's authorities for
the death of her mother, Elanor, killed in the late 80's during an anti-Underground
action by KorpOps Enforcers on Recon 4. Though her parents were only minimally
invloved with the Underground at the time, the violent death of Elanor was
enough to turn both Irma and Bertie to the Underground in the belief that
only violent revolution could restore justice to the Quadrant.
Tutored by her father in both medicine
and the use of Ungo (the ancient psychic-martial art of The Quadrant that
is little remembered today) Irma is more than a match for most men who have
nothing but physical strength to rely on. Yet her hot temper sometimes leads
her to use her Ungo skills in sudden bursts of violence, where a bit of
cunning or diplomacy might actually be more appropriate.
For the past three years, Irma has "appeared"
to be a medical services worker in the Healthanc ("Health and Neural
Care") Unit of QSU 14 on Recon 3. In actuality she has lived a shadowy
and dangerous existence, journeying through all parts of The Quadrant, mostly
in disguise. During that time she has helped plan and carry out acts of
sabotage against The System, recruited new Underground members, and transported
important documents and information that could only be conveyed in person,
often at great risk to her life.
A recent chance meeting with Galadrina alerted
Irma to the possibility that there were others besides the Underground whose
goals might serve her cause. However, she sees Galadrina as too mystical
and too reluctant to take decisive action against The System. On more than
one occasion, the thought has crossed Irma's mind that Galadrina may actually
be an agent of The System, planted in order to smoke out and help eliminate
members of the Underground.
