QUADRANT INFRASTRUCTURE AND POWER SYSTEMS: The following terms describe
infrastructure and power systems in The Quadrant. Choose any link to take

QKontrol: Overseen
by QuadOps and located in Krania Tower, QKontrol is the control center which
regulates and monitors all Quadrant infrastructure power systems (though,
the actual power generating equipment resides in and is physically operated
from Downshaft). Its areas of responsibility include Climate Control (heat
and air filtration), lighting, water conversion and distribution, and waste
removal. QKontrol also regulates all powered transportation systems in The
Quadrant, including Pedway, Speedtube, AirSkimmer, and Hydrolift power systems.

The Reactorz: Located in
Downshaft, seven aging controlled fusion reactorz provide the power to turn
generators which create electricity used to power most systems in The Quadrant.
These power systems are operated from the Main Power Station Downshaft and
supervised by a QKontrol "Power Systems Management Unit." To TOP of Page
Node/z: A certain allotment
of Quadrant electric power is continually diverted and routed to a hundred
or more broadband wave emitter nodez (tubular titanium structures about
4 meters in diameter and 10 meters high), strategically placed throughout
all Boardz. The Nodez comprise the energy output network used by onboard
power converters in AirSkimmers to create differentials in magnetic field
emissions and thus power flight (the pedways and speedtube trains work in

The Shootz: Large sealed
ducts/pipes used to carry human and other liquifous waste to various holding
areas (called Waste Receptor Units) below the Boardz where it is initially
treated and turned into sludge. This material is then pumped out of the
receptor tanks and routed (in smaller ducts) Downshaft to be processed in
the Pitz with other hard waste. Every QSU QuadOps sub-unit monitors its
sector's system of ducts on every Board. Since these often have to be checked
and repaired, they are accessible from the outside by a series of hatchways
and ramps. Though unauthorized persons are not allowed below the Boardz,
it is rumored that the Underground uses the repair ramps and hatchways to
travel between the Boardz and Downshaft undetected. To TOP
