“Beliefs can change with experience.”

Beliefs

We form beliefs in how the world works, our place in it and what we feel we can expect in the very earliest stages of our childhoods. Our unique energies and genetic formation interact with our environments and training during our developmental years, from birth through our late teenage years. After that we tend to take a more active role in shaping our life directions.

Our beliefs are influenced by culture, family, schooling, geographical location, traumas, religious training, role models, both unusual and everyday experiences, our interior thinking and reflective process, our gender, our birth order and our physical experiences, among other things.

Your particular path is unique and will always be unique, as only you have had your set of genes and your particular sequence of experiences. As you enter into each new day you bring this specialized point of view and awareness with you.

We also form beliefs about what is true and real and what is false and fantasy. When you communicate with others about what you believe to be true and real, or at least important, you often discover that others will hold a different belief to some greater or lesser extent then what you have expressed.

During coaching we can look at important beliefs and attitudes that you have formed, how they best serve you and how they might limit you, if they do, in connection to the directions you are moving in at any given time. Every place and any place is a valid place, because it is the current place. So we always go from here, assessing where you are now, how it’s working and then look ahead at the next few days and weeks, one thing at a time.
