Take a look at this site if you are searching for a very complete guide to estate planning and lots more. Here you will find a large guide to estate planning, as well as a guide to retirement planning, information on how to reduce taxes, an online bookstore and dates for estate planning workshops.

The estate planning guide begins with an introduction to tradtional estate planning methods (wills, living trusts, durable power of attorney). The section on wills mainly explains why not to use a will although some information is provided for one wanting to write a will. The information on living trusts is clearly presented and easy to understand. One area of the site is devoted to explaining probate and why it should be avoided. The reasons for avoidance seem complete and well laid out. This site goes deeper than some and explores other options such as family limited partnerships, dynasty and legacy trusts, private family foundations and funding your trust. While the coverage on private family foundations is good, one piece of information is missing, and that is who should set up this type of arrangement. A nice feature of this site is the information provided on how to plan your own estate without an attorney (although the assistance of an attorney is highly recommended).

RELEVANCY
This site is most relevant to one new to estate planning and considering establishing their own plan. However, as the information begins at the basic level, but also covers more in depth topics, those familiar with estate planning basics will also find this site useful.
QUANTITY
The amount of information provided here is enough to keep one reading for hours. And, the fact that links are provided to more specialized sources makes this a great launching off site for research into estate planning. If you can't find what you want on the web, this site has developed a bookstore with many estate planning books complete with descriptions and reviews.
APPEARANCE
The "dot com" in the title of this site definitely impacts the look of the site. Advertisements are scattered throughout the site for various products. The advertising is tastefully done and never gets in the way of your enjoyment of the site though. In fact, all banner ads are placed at the bottom of the pages which make them very unobtrusive. Some advertising seems a fair exchange given the amount of infomation provided here.
EASE OF USE
The site is designed with the user in mind. Tabs abnd buttons are plentiful, providing a nice roadmap to the site. The font size is large and easy to read.
