Kabbie Tour: Krania Tower
"Yer gonna like this! Krania Tower is the biggest, tallest thing
in the whole damned Quadrant by far. You can see almost to the end o' the
dome from the top, an' they got lots o' tours, like one where they show
ya vidz o' actual krimnals that they caught an' disconnected fer good. That
one's in a place they call the Mezzanine,
an' you don't ever wanna be taken there by them security enforcement types
to answer questions.
"All the Tops, includin' the Director and most o' the Bigs work here
to keep The System up
and runnin' smooth. But just between you an' me, they got their problems
with all the disconnections goin' on an' Downshaft
fillin' up an' all. People like me who live on Recon 4 are payin' more autotithe
taxes while the Bigz get away with payin' nuthin'. An' you never know when
ya might get blown up by one o' them bombs the underground keeps settin'
off.
"Sorry, I shouldn't be pubbin' this stuff, we could both get in lotsa
trouble . . . me fer chattin' an' you fer listenin' and not turnin' me in.
Anyway, look, we're comin' down on the top o' the tower now . . .
